Recommendation
"This video will be very helpful for people with anxiety disorder.
It is useful to people who learn psychiatry as well.
It is better than hundred of textbooks.”
Takeo Doi (psychiatrist / author of "The Anatomy of Dependence")
Overview
The definitive guide to understanding Morita Therapy.
Morita therapy represents traditional Japanese psychotherapy for anxiety disorder, and it does not apply any kind of medication--instead it puts patients in homelike therapeutic atmosphere and gives guidance to patients as to their daily lives.
Unlike Western therapies, Morita therapy does not try to extract symptom from the patient but encourage patient to live with it.
Patients going through Morita therapy will be aware that the symptom is not really a problem they need to eliminate.
The film provides the interviews of eight people who overcame anxiety disorder, a clear exposition of the thought and method of Morita Therapy by Chihiro Fujita (psychiatrist) and a documentary about a young man who is suffering from social phobia.
